I’m thankful to have worked with Calvin after the most significant romantic relationship of my life ended.

What I valued most about Calvin’s coaching approach is that he provided me with a scaffolding to rebuild within. How I decided to do that rebuilding was entirely my choice but I felt comforted knowing that he had shared a framework which took into account my relationship, my areas for growth and the strengths I’d already developed in other areas of my life.

Calvin’s approach was truly holistic. From voice notes to phone calls, video to IRL, he was willing to meet me where I was at and that removed a lot of the “shoulds” I’d tell myself, which often hindered my emotional development and healing.

Calvin shares his gifts generously and grounds his coaching in his own lived experiences. Hearing anecdotes from his life and the things he’s been through only makes his approach more valuable in my opinion. Suddenly the voice that tells you that “you are the only one who has ever gone through something like this” becomes redundant.

Losing love is not unique, but losing the person you loved is unique and Calvin was there to hold space for me whilst also reminding me that I would move through this chapter just as he and many others had.

That season did pass and I am better for the experience and the lessons the universe had planned for me. Beyond that though, I am so grateful to have had a coach in Calvin who helped me reach a place of peace and perspective.

He has a magical way of providing the perfect insight or analogy at the right time, which has given me clarity and been the catalyst for some major lightbulb moments. Often these analogies are humorous and playful, which is so helpful in being able to gracefully navigate and integrate the more hidden, shadow aspects of myself. He is always able to remind me who I am and what my strengths are when I need it the most. He has also connected me to some incredible healers he collaborates with who have been instrumental in my growth and learning process.

In our last session, I started my efforts to be able to clearly define my values. I can always say what I’m not, but find it so difficult to say what I am.

During our time together, Calvin gently guided me, helping me unravel thoughts and emotions, actions and reactions. The prompts we went through allowed me to discover growth that I never took time to acknowledge. I also had a chance to sit with my self-sabotaging behavior. I mean really sit with it, chat with it a little and see what it was up to since the last time we were together. You know, figure out what gets it out of its self-sabotaging bed in the morning...all with Calvin there to moderate.

Since then, I’ve been able to catch myself sabotaging. I stop and I take a step back. I sort out what’s brought us together again and I’m able to redirect, move forward always now with love for myself. I’m definitely grateful for the time I’ve had with Calvin and am looking forward to our next session!

Most of my life I've been fitting myself into corners and boxes required to thrive in a conservative religious community and, after the initial shock of leaving that wore off, I found myself without much of an anchor in the world. I've never been a stranger to the esoteric or the spiritual, I've just never allowed myself the space to be an active participant either. I've had a solid yoga and meditation practice for over a decade but had never considered how the practice benefitted or impacted me — it just was on the list of things I did because it was what spiritual seekers do.

After just a few frank conversations with Calvin and following his advice to meet with other lightworkers in his network, I feel I have more insight into ME and how to build practices that will nourish me and help me root in the authenticity of my own desires, not just practices that tick certain boxes. I approached Calvin about coaching me through the process of starting a financial coaching business. One of my challenges was finding the time to devote to a business without neglecting the responsibilities of my day job.

After explaining this to Calvin, he asked if there was anything from my experience in personal finance that I could apply to this challenge. After thinking about it for awhile, I realized that the practice of dividing one’s income into savings, spending and investments could be applied to time as well and that the only way that I would ever have time to spend on creating a successful coaching business was if I budgeted my time.

I was surprised to discover that the answer to my problem was right in front of my eyes and that I wasn’t seeing it until Calvin asked the right questions.

Calvin asks powerful questions in a thoughtful, compassionate way. He has a great sense of humor and creates a chill vibe that makes the sessions fun, relaxed and playful.

My sessions with Calvin reaffirmed for me that I am a resourceful person who can creatively respond to life’s challenges by drawing on my own inner wisdom. Whenever I come across a challenge in my life now, before seeking help elsewhere, I ask myself what am I doing well already that I can apply to this new situation in order to achieve similar success.

I've been a creative person all of my life: playing music, painting, dancing, occasionally trying my hand at writing. Despite Shelter-in-Place, which should have provided tremendous opportunities for all of the above, I found myself mostly spending free time playing computer games or something similar rather than pulling out the brushes or re-stringing my guitar.

Then I found out about Calvin's coaching. I've known Calvin for years and felt that his quick ear, enthusiasm, intuition and intelligence could be a huge asset in overcoming my creative blocks. We set up a weekly meeting and I was launched — it was a blast! Calvin's great sense of humor permeated the discussion, complemented by thoughtful, probing questions that helped me dissolve the blocks that had been plaguing me.

I re-strung both my guitars and started playing music with friends in the park which I have continued doing weekly for months now, wrote a song for the first time in twenty years, painted a series of three new paintings and completed a painting project involving over 50 small "sketch-paintings" as well. This is after not painting for over a year.
